Our Approach
At Healing Roots Wellness Center, we believe mental health doesn’t happen separately from the body.
Many of the people we work with have spent years wondering why they feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected, or stuck—despite trying all the things they were told should help.
What if your struggles aren’t simply happening in your mind?
What if your nervous system, hormones, chronic health conditions, sleep, nutrition, stress levels, sensory experiences, or life circumstances are also part of the story?
We take a body-led, mind-body approach to healing that looks at the whole person rather than just a list of symptoms. Our clinicians help clients understand the connections between physical health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and daily functioning so that healing feels more practical, sustainable, and compassionate.
While we support a wide range of mental health concerns, we have particular expertise in:
- Chronic illness and invisible health conditions
- Eating disorders and disordered eating
- ADHD and neurodivergence
- Anxiety and trauma
- Nervous system regulation and Polyvagal-informed care
- Women’s mental health, hormones, and cycle-related concerns
- The intersection of chronic health conditions and eating disorders
Our work is grounded in evidence-based approaches while also recognizing that healing is rarely one-size-fits-all. We integrate traditional psychotherapy with nervous system education, somatic awareness, lifestyle considerations, and practical tools that help clients better understand their own unique patterns.
Our founder, Krista Day, LSCSW, is also the author of Mood & Moon: A Body-Led Guide for Cycling Bodies, a workbook designed to help individuals better understand the relationship between hormones, mood, energy, sleep, appetite, and the nervous system. This same philosophy of curiosity, self-understanding, and body awareness is woven throughout the work we do at Healing Roots.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, an eating disorder, chronic illness, ADHD, hormonal changes, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, our goal is to help you better understand your system—not fight against it.
Because healing often begins when we stop asking, “What’s wrong with me?” and start asking, “What is my body trying to tell me?”
